2. And we’re off at the crack of 11:30 on New Years Day.

Pleasant first day.

We took 411 over to I-59.  That was enjoyable and interesting.  I-59 was a lot like an interstate.

Beautiful weather almost all day.  A couple of sprinkles as we closed in on the campground.

Nanabe Creek Campground is kinda ok. Trailer Life rating of 20.  $20.  The KOA 5 miles back up the road at Toomsuba, TL 27, $24-$29 might have been a better choice but Nanabe Creek is ok for a one night stand.

In case you don’t know, Trailer Life rates campgrounds on a scale of 1 – 10 in three categories which I translate to “stuff, clean, pretty”. I add them together. The highest rated campground we have stayed in with the bawt was Walnut Hills (28).  We’ve stayed in and enjoyed several campgrounds rated about 25.  The 20ish campgrounds are generally ok for a one night stand.  Much below 20 and I go looking elsewhere.

Set up, had supper, relaxing watching the Rose Bowl and writing this.

Next morning chatted with our neighbors from Michigan as we were both getting ready to roll.  Discovered that both of us are headed by Texas Trails.  They have been going there for 8 years and will stay until April.
